[Review] Maybelline – Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser

Happy Monday beautiful faces~
Today, I have a review of Maybelline’s Age Rewind Dark Circle Concealer to share!

Let’s see whether it’s worth the hype! 😀

I almost ran out of the one that I’ve been using, so I recently repurchase these two shades: Brightener/Illuminator and Light/Pale. The one on the left is the brightener/illuminator; and the one on the right is light/pale.

It has a soft little cotton ball on the top which makes it easy to apply. The cotton ball feels very soft. Even though I have pretty sensitive under eye area, it did not irritate me at all.

If you twist the red portion in the middle, the product will come out. If it’s your first time use, you might have to twist like.. ten times. (It’s not because you got the broken product, so don’t panic 😉 ) Once it soaks the cotton ball, you can simply glide it on your skin.

Left: Light/Pale, Right: Brightener/Illuminator

As you can see in the picture, brightener/illuminator has pink undertone while light/pale one has yellow undertone. I realized most people use the light/pale one for under eye area. For me, even though light shade perfectly matches my skin, I usually use the brightener/illuminator to cover up dark circles.

It may sound weird that I use a concealer with pink undertone for under eye area. Here’s why: Usually dark circles are blue(sometimes it’s purplish brown). In order to cover it better in a more natural way, we need to play with colors. Since pink is a complimentary color to blue, it covers up the blue-toned bags really well. If your bags are closer to brown and has reddish undertone, I’d recommend using green concealer.

Therefore, I usually brightener/illuminator for under eye area, and light/pale for general dark spots on overall face.

Texture is very creamy and moisturizing. So it’s easy to blend, and it also doesn’t dry out the under eye area!!

Let’s test it on my face.

Can you see how it brightened up under eye area? Also, though I applied a pretty thin layer, it gave about a medium coverage. Since it has a buildable coverage, you can apply it more until you get your desired look.  Even with multiple layers, it doesn’t crease much. Also, since these don’t have any shimmer in them, these can be used as a highlighter as well.

Overall, this is an amazing product. This product really is worth the hype. I’ve been using this product for about 4 years now, and I still use this product almost every single day!

Especially, if you are a beginner, this is a great product to start. It’s not expensive, and it’s very easy to use!

Hope this review was helpful!

Let me know what’s your favorite concealer! I’d love to try them out!

This is my favourite under eye concealer! I use the Neutralizer one (yellow) because I found the pink one too obvious on me. I mix the Neutralizer with the Medium shade… which is close to perfect (it’s a touch dark) but I slap on a highlighting pen and it’s all good. 😀 Thanks for this review!

I’ve used that before and I really liked it…another kind I like is 24 Hours Super Stay Concealer by Maybelline. They both work really well for my skin type, and don’t streak easily, so very low-maintenance. 🙂

I have this concealer in neutraliser. Its quite yellow. I just use a little amount to cover up the area. I use as highlight for my under eyes. But its staying power isnt so good plus its kinda cakey. The fit me one is a great product 😀

aah that’s too funny, I actually just got one of these 2 days ago! The only one they had left was in “nude” though and wherever I go I don’t seem to find a different shade….the nude tone blends in quite okay but it’s a bit too dark for me and has kind of an orangey undertone to it 😦 I hope I can find the light one!

awww that’s sad 😦 hmmm what about using it as a cream bronzer? I usually have hard time finding the right shade of bronzer. So I sometimes use a powder/foundation that’s couple shades darker than me as a bronzer.

I just ran out of concealer and I was thinking about going with a high end product. But after seeing your post, you’d persuaded me to get this one! Plus, I’ve seen a YouTuber use it to highlight and it looks beautiful.

Oooohhh! I just discovered this concealer, but I didn’t get the brightner/illuminator, just the concealer. I’ll have to go get the brightner/illuminator. I wonder what would happen if I used them together….
