The famous Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation has 2 additional new versions now! Fit Me Foundation was on many beauty bloggers’ favorites lists. However, many people commented that they wished the product was more specific for each skin type. To meet their needs, Maybelline released 2 new versions of Fit Me Foundation: Dewy + Smooth and Matte + Poreless. Since I have dry skin, I purchased the Dewy + Smooth one.
I loved Mac’s Moisture Foundation, so I expected this new Fit Me foundation to give nice dewy glowy look like the Mac one. Let’s see whether it could be a dupe for Mac’s foundation.
Let’s talk about the shade first. For foundations, and for most brands, the lightest shade of the medium shade group matches my skintone. So, I purchased that shade which is 210 Sandy Beige. However, compared to other brands’ medium shades, Fit Me Foundation has a much stronger yellow undertone. Therefore, though it’s technically only a shade darker than what I’m supposed to use, it looks much darker/yellower when applied on my skin. If you are on the borderline between light and medium shades, you will need to be extra careful when picking the shade.
Texture is very nice. My first impression is that the product is very lightweight and liquidy. It’s really light, it almost feels like a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer. If you don’t like the typical heavy foundation texture, you’ll love this texture.
The coverage wasn’t impressive. To test the coverage, I drew 2 dots, and covered the dot on the right side with fit me foundation. I’d say the coverage is about light – medium. It is buildable, but it doesn’t fully cover up spots. If you have lots of blemishes or spots to cover, you should use a concealer.
Lasting and oil control was a bit disappointing. I was expecting a dewy look like a Mac foundation. However, even though I have extremely dry skin, with my normal skin care routine, my skin looked oily rather than dewy in ONLY an hour after I applied. Even if you have dry skin, you should use less product during your skincare step and use setting powder to control excess oil. Otherwise, your face will look greasy and oily all over.
Overall, it didn’t meet my expectations at all….. 😦 It gives more of an oily look rather than a dewy and smooth look. Also, the coverage was quite disappointing as well. I won’t repurchase this product.
Which drugstore foundation do you recommend for dry skin?
I have oily/combo skin & have heard good things about the Matte & Poreless version. Especially when used with the matching powder.
Nice. I wish they made Dewy+Smooth one as good as the Matte one =(
Revlon nearly naked or rimmel match perfection are my favourites ☺️ x
Wooo!! I’ll try those out soon!! Thanks for your recommendation!
Im a big fan of Rimmel BB matte cream
I love Mary Kay Cream to Powder foundation. Goes on light, and covers!!
Wooo That’s nice! I’ll try that one!
I have extremely dry skin so i use revlon colorstay makeup (of course after using ponds moisturizing cream)
Same here! I think Revlon’s colorstay foundation is the best for dry skin!
Do you also use pond’s facial moisturizer? that also helps a lot with dry skin
Yup! Depends on my skin condition, but I usually use ponds’ cream and revlon foundation! 😀
Hello! Thanks for visiting my blog and following me. Great review, by the way! I love reading up on drugstore makeup reviews.
No prob! I loved your posts =)
Thank you! Glad you liked them! =) btw, I study public health as well 😉
Hooray for public health majors! 😀
That’s a good review. I’ve been considering changing foundations. I am on the hunt for a new foundation and MAC Isn’t doing it for me at the moment. Something to consider.
I have dry skin too, so I might try this out! I’ll try to use less moirurizer and set with a powder like you recommended. Thanks for the tips!
That is such a pity that it made you oily when you have dry skin!
I liked the fit me , matte & poreless & my skin is generally oily. This foundation fizes all of that ! Maybe you should try that? Sorry the other one didnt work for you ;/ i also like the rimmel matte bb cream & Hardcandy Cc cream 🙂
I always go matte but I’m thinking of trying a dewy look..I think I will check this out!! Looks like it would be good coverage.
xx
I would not recommend any drug store product for dry skin-they all contain chemicals. What I use is organic coconut oil and booda butter by booda Organics. It is very silky to the touch.
Great review! I have combo skin and I don’t think I’d be interested in this just because if i’m going to wear a foundation, it might as well cover nicely. If not, then I wouldn’t wear any to begin with!
Maybelline’s Dream Wonder works really nice Such a light silky application.
I love how you got creative by showing results with the different pictures. They really show the results. Thank you
This is very useful!👍
Thank you!
So glad I looked at your review before purchasing this one. I have the matte one and that works well even though I have pretty dry skin. I always use moisturizer beforehand though c.
Aww too bad! Thanks for the review. I have had good experiences with Revlon Nearly Naked and L’Oréal True Match liquids, for my dry skin. The color matches aren’t great, though.
Yea, I agree with you 😦 I prefer Lumi foundation from Loreal and 24 hr colorstay foundation (for nomal – dry skin) from Revlon! Colorstay still doesn’t perfectly match my skintone, but i love how long it lasts.
Thanks for the review! I almost bought this one the other day and tried the Matte + Poreless version instead. Now I’m glad I did!
I have tried all kind of foundations , i have dry sensitive skin . I have finally fould my one and only Revlon 24 hours colorstay . Its just amazing !!!
i’m very agree with your article, i already tried these products, and it’s simply cool!
I’m not sure it would work on me! I’d need something much more powerful!
All the best
Opher

I have never been a great fan of Maybelline , in fact , have used very few of their products. Please do tell me which of their products you recommend.
Great review!
