Essie – Smooth Sailing

Is everyone enjoying summer so far? It’s been raining pretty hard these past couple weeks in the Gambia. This rainy weather reminded me of the Essie’s Smooth Sailing that I purchased last year. It’s a very pretty lavender blue with pearls. Unlike the picture on Essie’s website, the actual “Smooth Sailing” is bluer and less purple. The actual color is very close to my picture. IMG_3036 The pearls add a nice shine. Since the color is not too dull or bright, it looks great with any daily outfit style. It also make your casual look more chic. For the review, I applied ONLY the Smooth Sailing without a base coat or top coat. (On my ring finger, I applied KleanColor’s Pink Star as a base coat. Click here for a review of Pink Star.) I applied a single coat of Smooth Sailing on each nail, and it already produced a rich color. IMG_3033 On the next day, even without the top coat, it barely chipped and that part is not that noticeable in person. So, don’t worry if you are running busy and don’t have time to apply a base coat/top coat. You can simply apply it on your nails and go. Also, unlike some other nail products with pearls or glitter, this one is very easy to remove with any nail polish remover! The only down side of this nail polish is the brush. If you own other Essie products, you are probably familiar with their brush style: the straight cut tip, not the round-shaped that’s easier to paint on nails. Color intensity: 5 out of 5 Ease of use: 4.5 out of 5 Lasting (without chipping): 4.5 out of 5 Removability: 5 out of 5

Overall: 4.8 out of 5

What’s your favorite summer nail polish ?

Stay beYOUtiful
