[Review] Etude House – New Moistfull Collagen Skin Care Series

Today, I have a review on Etude House’s upgraded Moistfull Collagen Skin Care Set.

This is the products that many of you asked me to do a review earlier last month. So I tried out these products for past 25 days.

Before I start, here’s brief description on my skin condition.

• Overall: Dry – Extremely dry and sensitive
• T-zone: slightly oily
• Hormonal acne
• Cheeks: Hyperpigmentation

Those of you who like Korean makeup products may already know about these products. Collagen skin care products are one of the most popular products from Etude House. Etude House recently upgrade their entire moistfull collagen skin care series.

The set that I got includes: toner, emulsion, cream, and essence.

Texture:

Collagen Emulsion – Very light and lotiony texture. Anyone used moisturizer from Clean and Clear during junior high – high school? This one has very similar texture. Since this one is emulsion, it absorbs a bit faster than the lotion from C&C.

Collagen Cream – Compared to other creams, this one’s much much lighter. Most creams on the market have high contents of oil, but this one has very high content of water. Therefore the texture’s much lighter, and it absorbs faster. It doesn’t feel oily nor thick at all.

Collagen Essence – Typical essence-like texture. Other products in the series are more like providing moisture, while this one seems to be more focused on sealing the moisture in. Therefore, I applied it right after using toner to prep skin before applying other products and to avoid losing moisture.

Let’s try it on my face:

Here’s my face right after shower. Since I have extremely dry skin, it gets dry and tight soon after shower.

After I applied: Toner -> Essence -> Emulsion -> Cream
Always! apply the ones with lighter texture first!

Can you see the difference?

This one instantly hydrates my skin, and it lasted all day long. I liked how all these products are water-based instead of oil-based. So I didn’t have to worry about it breaks my skin out even when I used large amount of them at once. However, since I have extremely dry skin, as the weather gets colder, I realized that  I also needed an oil based product to seal the moistures from all the collagen products. I used Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion for Dry skin.

If you have dry – extremely dry skin:
I’d recommend you to use a thick lotion/cream on top of all the products to seal the moisture.

If you have normal – oily skin:
Series of all those collagen products will be good enough,
