Since it’s fall and the weather’s getting colder and drier, I recently changed my skincare routine and purchased new skin care products that are more focused on hydrating. The eye area is the most sensitive area and it gets the driest, so it needs extra care. Therefore, I purchased the eye makeup remover lotion from Neutrogena which claims to hydrate the eye area. Here’s what I liked and what I didn’t like about this product.
The product is a lotion type, which is very soft and creamy.
It’s very easy to use:
1. Put a little bit (size of a dime or a penny) of the product on your finger
2. Close your eyes
3. Using one or two fingers, gently rub it on both your eyelid and under eye area for about a minute.
4.For next 30sec – 1min, gently massage the eye area.
5. Rinse with mid-temp water.
Since it’s a lotion type, you can massage your eye area while you are removing eye makeup, which is a huge plus. Because of the lotiony texture and massaging, the eye area felt more hydrated than when using other products and it felt more relaxed. Also, it’s not greasy at all.
Though it was easy to use and great at hydrating and massaging, it wasn’t great at removing makeup.
I rubbed the product in for about 3-4 minutes, but it still wasn’t able to remove the waterproof products (the mascara, pencil liner, and gel liner). This happened again when I applied it to the actual eye area. Therefore, I had to remove the waterproof products with other products again, which ended up drying out the eye area even more.
I liked all the other factors of this product, but because of it’s poor ability to remove makeup, I don’t use this product on a daily basis. I only use it on days when I only wear shadows or minimal eye makeup with no waterproof products. If you wear waterproof products often, this might not be worth the $$ for you.
